cycle safety reflection

Cycle safety 22nd of July 2019                 

On the 22nd of July, I and all of the year sixes did cycle safety at school, the reason we did this is to improve our biking skills on the road, we split up into groups and did a series of courses. I think I did pretty good in cycle safety because I ride a bike a lot. I learnt a lot like how you can't ride your bike on the footpath and that you will get fined. I need to improve on taking sharp corners because I crashed and hurt my hand while riding on the road. the R that I used was resilience after I hurt my hand.

For many people, gaming is not a sport but today I will persuade you that gaming is a sport. The first point there is a lot of money in gaming like pro sports, pro gamers can earn up to 1 million dollars a year more than a lot of pro athletes. Also, gamers can build up very big net worths pro gamer Turner Ellis Tenney or Tfue has a net worth of 10 million dollars on of the biggest net worths for a gamer. Second point people pay hundreds to watch pro gamers live in sold-out stadiums like many sports events, some gaming competitions like the fortnite World cup saw the grand prize is a total of 3 million US dollars won by 16 year old Kyle Giersdorf or Bugha from the USA. there has also been a skyrocket in people watching pro gaming instead of basketball and other sports. The third point a lot of training goes into esports and pro gaming like sports, players train for hours and pro gaming teams have dietitians, coaches, and managers like pro sports teams, pro gamers in big gaming teams are pushed to eat healthily. And in conclusion, this is why I think gaming should be considered a sport.

camp recount

Camp recount

I can't hold in my excitement i`m going to camp! I was on the bus nearly there but when i got there it was not what i thought. all of the buses had to turn around so we could do the 20 minute long walk i was not happy about that but i did it anyway. when we got to the farm i was told that we had to walk up the hill the walk was very tiring but i made when i got to the top i felt a huge accomplishment. I made it to the top at the top there was the living springs camp it looked like a nice camp.There was a pool, playground, basketball court, a field and much much more.

We were showed our cabins and we setup our bedding then we were told that we had free time so i got changed and went in the pool. I would not say the pool was the best but it was pretty good for a camp, soon i was dinner we had chicken with white rice it was delicious after that it was pretty much bedtime and most of us went to bed at around 9:30. Soon it was morning and it was time to get ready for a whole day of activities so we had to pack our day packs with a drink bottle, hat, sunscreen. We had breakfast i had jam toast and rice pops after that i was ready for the day. First my group had rifles and archery I hit ⅘ of my targets with the air rifles and with the archery I hit none. After archery we had morning tea we had juice, fruit, and a piece of cake when we were done we went to do animal survival how it works is there are four categories small herbivore, large predator, small predator, large herbivore. The small predator will eat the small herbivore and the dog can eat everything, near the end of the game to adults would come out on would be rabbis and the other will be flood these two can kill every one of you get touched. Each animal had a certain amount of lives the dog had two, the small predator had four, the small herbivore had seven, and the large predator had five. there has also a hunter at the end of the game which could kill everything apart from the small herbivore the game was fun and i survived as a small predator all the way to the end of the game.

Next was the bouldering wall but we had to walk down the hill to reach it and that walk was very tiring. The bouldering wall was basically a sweaty climbing wall with mat to catch you. i did ok but there was a challenge that i didn't even try it was called around the world you had to climb across the whole wall.  After that we had low ropes what you had to do was to walk across a rope usually with another one to hold onto and your group around you to make sure you did not fall. My group went around the whole course and did

not fail a single one but there was a hard one i was like a rope bridge that swung around and it was very difficult.

Soon it was time to go back for dinner for dinner we had burgers and chips it was scrumptious. The next day it was time to go back to school so in the morning we packed our bags and put them outside to go on the bus now we only have our day packs but there was still 2 hours till we walked down the hill so we played on the trampoline on the field and on the monorail till it was time to walk down the hill at the bottom of the hill there was the farm at the farm we feed the animals, milked a cow, sheared a sheep and had lunch. Camp was fun and i would definitely go again
